Small but Driven
Resources, supplies and funding are limited on our small island, but the cost of living is significantly higher than the average stateside community. Yet, we thrive with fewer opportunities. When the hurricanes of life come, we don't evacuate, we hunker down and ride out the storm. Because we have to, we have no other choice.
The same needs that people have our shelter pets have but we wish that people would show the same compassion and love that the pets show to us.
Our intake is too high compared to our human island population. In addition to promoting adoptions over back yard breeding, we want to reach out to the neighborhoods with greatest intake and provide greater education about spay/neuter and responsible ownership.
