What makes you a tough contender in the ASPCA $100K Challenge?
Oklahoma City has a proven track record of developing, sustaining, and building upon life-saving programs and collaborations that saved the lives of almost 14,000 dogs and cats last year alone.
Describe your shelter in 3 words
Visionary. Dynamic. Proactive.
What is the most important message about animals you’d like to share with your community?
The City views animals as having intrinsic worth as sentient beings, separate from economic value, and as such respects them and their presence in our community as a quality of life issue.
How would you use $100,000?
We will 1) aggressively promote our new, cutting-edge Foster-to-Transfer Project, which allows all stray puppies under six months of age, and all cats and kittens, to be transferred to foster homes and rescue groups upon intake until their stray holding period is up, after which they can be officially transferred to the rescue groups, thereby eliminating or minimizing their shelter stay, and 2) conduct at least one mega weekend-long adoption event with other animal welfare groups.
